Hi! My name is Kassia, and I chose this name myself—just like the country I live in and the hobby that gradually turned into trade. But let’s start at the beginning. My name is Kassia Melnik, and I’m a ceramist. Before that, I was a photographer and an assistant director.
I started working with ceramics in the fall of 2021. My psychologist advised me to find something that brought me joy and inspiration. I tried embroidery, then sewing with patterns. Around the same time, a friend opened a ceramics studio. I went to try some shaping – and woke up a couple of months later at home surrounded by clay and a ton of tools. The inspiration was found! 🙂
And now I’m happy to share it with others through my art.
The porcelain I use is the famous Limoges porcelain. The kaolin clay for it is made right in the French city of Limoges, from where it goes to a Berlin based store and straight to my studio.
